Baltimore Winter Wellness Event
On Presidents’ Day, February 19th, Harlem Lacrosse - Baltimore hosted a Winter Wellness Event at Living Classrooms UA House, bringing together student-athletes for a day focused on fitness, nutrition, mental health, and holistic well-being. The event was designed to educate and empower our students, providing them with valuable tools to take ownership of their health on and off the field.
The day featured interactive stations covering key wellness topics:
Fitness & Strength Training: Students learned foundational exercises such as squats, lunges, push-ups, and pull-ups, emphasizing proper form, injury prevention, and setting healthy fitness goals.
Nutrition Education: Through a fun and competitive Nutrition Jeopardy game, students explored essential topics like balanced meals, hydration, and fueling their bodies for peak performance—using a curriculum provided by the Cal Ripken Foundation.
Mental Health & Mindset: Coaches and guest speakers led discussions on mental resilience, goal-setting, and stress management, reinforcing the importance of a strong mind-body connection in both athletics and academics.
Academic Excellence Recognition: The event concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing the highest GPA and best attendance from each program, and celebrating students who are excelling in the classroom as well as on the field.
This event was a true reflection of Harlem Lacrosse’s commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes, ensuring that they not only excel in lacrosse but also build healthy habits, strong character, and academic success.
